10. Summary of the thesis results:

- This thesis clarifies the basis for the increased competition for influence between the US and China in Myanmar during the period 2009-2016, including: the global situation, the Asia-Pacific region, Southeast Asia, and Myanmar; the strategic interests of the US and China in Myanmar; and the policies of these two countries in Myanmar.

- This thesis analyzes the increasing competition for influence between the United States and China in Myanmar across political, economic, military, and other fields from 2009 to 2016, and assesses Myanmar's policy responses to the United States and China.

- This thesis analyzes the impact of US-China competition on Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, and offers some policy recommendations for Vietnam in its relations with the US, China, and Myanmar.

11. Practical applications:

- Scientifically, the topic illustrates the competition for influence between the US and China in Myanmar, thereby enriching our understanding of this issue. This is a matter that receives little attention domestically, but during President B. Obama's term (2009-2016), especially after the civilian government replaced the military regime in Myanmar (2011), this issue has received increasing attention.

- Vietnam is also a region where the US and China are increasingly interested in expanding their influence; therefore, the lessons from Myanmar will help Vietnam make appropriate adjustments to its foreign policy in its relations with the two superpowers, the US and China.

12. Future research directions:

The US-China competition for influence in Myanmar, Southeast Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region after 2016.

11. Practical applicability, if any:

Scientifically, the thesis demonstrates the influential competition of the US-China in Myanmar, thereby enriching the perception of the issue. This is of little interest in Vietnam, but during the presidency of President B. Obama (2009-2016), especially after the civilian government replaced Myanmar's military administration (2011), this issue is getting more and more pronounced.

Similar to Myanmar, Vietnam is also the country where both the US and China want to increase their influence, so in the coming time, Vietnam needs to suitably adjust its foreign policy with these two powers.
