- Chapter 1 of the thesis focuses on clarifying the concept of competition in international relations, thereby determining the framework for analyzing competition as a theoretical basis. The framework includes aspects that need to be analyzed when studying the factors affecting, the current situation and the impact mechanism of the competition between the two powers in the Asia-Pacific region. Also in chapter 1, the thesis focuses on clarifying the factors affecting both internal and external factors on the competition between China and Japan in the Mekong sub-region from 1992 to 2022.
- Based on the analytical framework identified in Chapter 1, the thesis focuses on clarifying the comprehensive competition between China and Japan in the Mekong sub-region from 1992 to 2022 in four important areas: Political diplomacy, economy, national defense and security, and culture and education.
