This paper provides an overview of the construction of temples and pagodas during the Ly and Tran dynasties in general. It compiles relevant documents and materials to reconstruct the history of temples and pagodas in the northern mountainous region from the 11th to 14th centuries. Simultaneously, it offers an initial analysis of how Buddhism spread and developed in this region and its role in establishing the centralized monarchical system of the Ly and Tran dynasties and Dai Viet.

Gathering source material and documents to depict the history of the pagodas and stupas in the 11th -14th century Northern mountainous region of Dai Viet. At the same time, initially to explain how Buddhism spread and developed in the region and its role in implementing the strategy of building centralized imperial realm of the Ly and Tran dynasties.
