Firstly, the author clarifies general theoretical issues regarding the implementation of village democracy in our country, such as: the general concept of democracy, village democracy, the characteristics of village democracy, and some basic contents in the implementation of village democracy in our country today.
Secondly, the author presents the current state of village democracy implementation in Vietnam through the case study of Ung Hoa district, Hanoi City: highlighting some aspects of village organization and the tradition of village democracy in Ung Hoa district; the achievements and limitations, and identifying the causes of those achievements and limitations.
Thirdly, the author proposes solutions for effectively implementing village-level democracy in Vietnam today, based on the practical experience in Ung Hoa District, Hanoi City.
