10. Summary of the thesis results:
The thesis "Assessing the Effectiveness of Electronic Resource Use at the Library of the United Nations International School of Hanoi" focuses on researching the effectiveness of using electronic resources at UNIS Hanoi. The study poses two main questions: what methods and criteria are applied to assess the effectiveness of electronic resource use, and what is the actual level of effectiveness in using electronic resources at the school?
The objective of this study is to identify appropriate criteria and indicators for measuring and building a theoretical framework for evaluating the effectiveness of using electronic resources in schools. The study identifies four main criteria: resource quality, user satisfaction, usage statistics, and cost.
The thesis consists of 5 main chapters:
Chapter 1: Research Overview - introduces electronic documents, their role, and suggests a standard evaluation framework for usage effectiveness that should include four elements: source quality, user satisfaction, usage statistics, and cost.
Chapter 2: Research Subjects and Design: provides an overview of the research context and methodology, explores the Library of the United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS Hanoi) and the electronic resources it offers, and details the research design, the research sample used, and the methods of data collection and analysis.
Chapter 3: Research Results - presents the results obtained and analyzes the data according to four criteria. The results show that electronic documents are highly rated for quality but need improvement in user communication and support to optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
Chapter 4: Proposed Solutions - outlines specific solutions to improve the efficiency of managing and developing electronic resources at the UNIS library, including improving the quality of materials, enhancing promotional activities and raising awareness, and increasing user interaction and support.
Chapter 5: Conclusion - summarizes the research findings, highlights limitations, and suggests directions for future development.
11. Practical applications:
This research has significant practical implications for examining and evaluating, and gaining a better understanding of the behavior and needs of users of electronic resources at the United Nations International School of Hanoi library. This will help UNIS library managers develop more effective strategies for resource development and management. This standardized evaluation framework can also be applied and adapted to other libraries in the country and region, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of electronic resource use in education.
12. Future research directions:
To expand and enhance the value of the research, the survey tools need to be refined, and more detailed questions should be added to collect more comprehensive data on the use of e-learning materials. Direct interviews with students and teachers will provide qualitative data to better understand their needs and difficulties in using e-learning materials. Furthermore, expanding the survey to more schools in Hanoi and throughout Vietnam will provide a more comprehensive view, allowing for comparison of e-learning management and development methods among schools.

  4. Changes in the academic process:
  5. Official thesis title: “Evaluate effective use of digital resources in the library of the United Nations International School Hanoi”
  6. Major: Information - Library Science; Code: 8320201.01 (Research)
  7. Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Hung, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
  8. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis "Evaluate effective use of digital resources in the library of the United Nations International School Hanoi" focuses on the effectiveness of electronic resource usage at the United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS Hanoi). The research raises two main questions: what methods and criteria are applied to assess the effectiveness of electronic resource usage, and what is the actual effectiveness of using these resources at the school.
The objective is to identify appropriate criteria and metrics, thereby developing a theoretical framework for evaluating the effectiveness of electronic resource usage in schools. Four key criteria are identified: resource quality, user satisfaction, usage statistics, and cost.
The thesis consists of five main chapters:
Chapter 1: Literature Review- introduces electronic resources, their role, and proposes a standard evaluation framework that includes four factors: resource quality, user satisfaction, usage statistics, and cost.
Chapter 2: Research Subject and Design - provides an overview of the context and methodology, exploring the UNIS Hanoi library and its electronic resources, along with a detailed description of the research design, sample, and methods of data collection and analysis.
Chapter 3: Research Results - presents and analyzes data based on the four criteria. The results show that while electronic resources are highly rated for quality, improvements in user communication and support are needed to optimize usage efficiency and resource costs.
Chapter 4: Proposed Solutions - suggests specific solutions to enhance the management and development of electronic resources at the UNIS library, including improving resource quality, increasing promotional activities, raising awareness, and enhancing user interaction and support.
Chapter 5: Conclusion - summarizes the research findings, identifies limitations, and outlines future directions.
  9. Practical applicability:
This research holds significant practical value in reviewing and understanding user behavior and needs regarding electronic resources at the UNIS library, helping library managers at UNIS develop more effective resource management strategies. The standard evaluation framework can also be applied and adapted for other libraries nationally and in the region, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of electronic resource usage in education.
  10. Further research directions:
To expand and enhance the value of the study, the survey tool needs to be refined, with additional detailed questions to collect more comprehensive data on electronic resource usage. Direct interviews with students and teachers will provide qualitative data to better understand their needs and difficulties in using these resources. Additionally, expanding the survey to more schools in Hanoi and across Vietnam will provide a broader perspective, allowing for comparisons of management and development methods for electronic resources among schools.
