Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health problems, profoundly affecting millions of people globally. The increase in the number of anxiety disorder cases in recent decades has posed a significant challenge to healthcare and social systems worldwide.
This study provides an overview of anxiety disorders, including their concept, characteristics, and classification. It also identifies the main causes of anxiety disorders and treatment methods for this group of disorders. Furthermore, the study focuses on analyzing anxiety disorders from the perspective of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), encompassing the viewpoints of cognitive and behavioral theories on anxiety disorders; evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of CBT in treating anxiety disorders; and an introduction to the main techniques of CBT in anxiety disorder treatment.
11. Practical applications:
Based on the results obtained through theoretical and practical research, the project presents an overview of the process of evaluating, diagnosing, and intervening in a clinical case exhibiting anxiety disorder. The main therapy for the client was cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), aiming to provide the client with the necessary knowledge and skills to change misconceptions and manage anxiety symptoms. The project's results contribute to demonstrating the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in treating anxiety disorders in particular and other mental illnesses with accompanying anxiety symptoms in general.
