10. Summary of project results:
The study presented an overview of depressive disorders. It reviewed important studies in the world, in Vietnam, and focused on depressive disorders in young people. The study presented basic issues about this disorder such as concept, characteristics, causes, clinical characteristics, and diagnostic criteria according to DSM-5. In addition, the study also reviewed assessment and treatment methods, in which the main therapy used is cognitive behavioral therapy, combined with relaxation techniques, to support clients in coping with stress and problems in life.
The intervention results showed that the client reduced the symptoms of depressive disorders, helping the client gradually replace unhealthy, unhelpful beliefs with positive perceptions about themselves and life; Improve mood, enhance communication skills, improve positive relationships. In particular, helping the client stop suicidal thoughts, learn how to cope, adjust to suicidal thoughts. At the same time, the client is able to apply skills to manage stress, handle problems, prevent relapse of depression as well as other problems in their life, increase self-confidence and strengthen social skills.
11. Practical applicability: From the results obtained through the process of theoretical and practical research in clinical case therapy, the study has contributed further evidence on the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral approaches in intervening in the symptoms of depressive disorders. In addition, the limitations of the thesis also provide new practitioners with lessons to increase the effectiveness of future therapy.

The study addresses fundamental issues of this disorder such as its concept, characteristics, causes, clinical features, and diagnostic criteria according to the DSM-5. , the study reviewed assessment and treatment methods, with cognitive - behavioral therapy being the primary intervention, additionally combined with relaxation techniques to support the client in coping with stress and life problems. Intervention results show that the client experienced a reduction in depressive symptoms. The client gradually replaced unhealthy and unhelpful beliefs with positive self-perceptions and a more optimistic outlook on life. Mood improved, communication skills enhanced, and positive relationships strengthened. Notably, the client stopped suicidal ideation, learned to cope with suicidal thoughts, and adjusted to them. Furthermore, the client was able to apply skills to manage stress, solve problems, prevent relapse of depression, and other life issues, increase self-confidence and strengthen social skills.
