7. Thesis title: A comparison of Italian and Vietnamese consonants and the teaching of Italian consonant pronunciation to Vietnamese students at A1 level.
8. Major: Linguistics; Code: 8229020.01

10. Summary of the thesis results:
In this essay, we have first synthesized and presented the definitions and theoretical foundations related to consonants and their classification; syllables and syllable structure; and summarized the consonant system and syllable structure of Italian and Vietnamese. In addition, we have also proposed five principles for comparing languages.
Next, we describe the consonant systems of the two languages, Italian and Vietnamese, before proceeding with a comparison. These are two complex consonant systems. The comparison will not only help us identify the similarities and differences between these two systems, but also help us predict the advantages and disadvantages Vietnamese students will face when recognizing and pronouncing Italian consonants.
While a theoretical comparison based on phonetic concepts revealed the advantages and disadvantages faced by Vietnamese students in recognizing and pronouncing Italian consonants, conducting two experimental surveys on 121 Vietnamese students learning Italian at the A1 level helped us identify both practical advantages and disadvantages. Accordingly, we also surveyed 16 teachers who teach Italian consonant pronunciation at the A1 level to Vietnamese students with the aim of gathering practical teaching experience and offering suggestions to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
11. Practical applications:
The results of this thesis contribute to strengthening the strengths and mitigating the weaknesses in recognizing and pronouncing Italian consonants among Vietnamese students at the A1 level; at the same time, it also contributes to research on developing lectures, curricula, and textbooks that are suitable for Vietnamese learners of Italian.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
In this thesis, first of all, we have synthesized and presented the definitions, theoretical bases related to consonants and the basis of consonant classification; syllables and syllable structure; at the same time generalize the Italian and Vietnamese consonant systems and syllable structures. In addition, we also set out 5 rules for contrast analysis of these two languages.
We also describe the consonant systems of the two languages, Italian and Vietnamese, before contrasting them. These are two complex consonant systems. The contrast analysis not only helps us to see the similarities and differences between these consonant systems, but also helps us predict the advantages and disadvantages of Vietnamese students when recognizing and pronouncing the Italian consonants.
If the contrast based on phonological concepts shows the advantages and disadvantages of Vietnamese students theorized, experimentally conducted two surveys on 121 Vietnamese students studying Italian at A1 level helps us realize both the advantages and the disadvantages from a practical point of view. structured, we also conducted a survey on 16 teachers teaching Italian consonant pronunciation at A1 level to Vietnamese students with the aim of collecting practical teaching experiences and giving some teaching proposals in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
11. Practical applicability, if any:
The findings of this thesis contribute to strengthening the strengths and limiting the weaknesses in terms of recognition and pronunciation of Italian consonants by Vietnamese students at A1 level; At the same time, it also contributes to the research and development of lesson plans, study programs and textbooks that are suitable for Vietnamese people learning Italian.
12. Further research directions, if any:
