Through researching the topic "The system of ceremonial texts in Phu Giay - Vu Ban - Nam Dinh" from a cultural anthropological perspective, this thesis has achieved the following results:
Phu Giay is a center for the practice of the Tam Phu Mother Goddess worship. This thesis has systematized the ceremonial texts at Phu Giay. These texts include published and archived texts, as well as unofficial texts, which have been used by ceremonial singers in the spirit medium rituals at Phu Giay from the past to the present. This thesis analyzes aspects of the people and land of Phu Giay, Nam Dinh, as reflected in the ceremonial texts circulating in the region. In particular, the character and qualities of the people of Phu Giay, Nam Dinh, as expressed in these texts, have been generalized. The thesis also pays special attention to the people's belief in deities, especially in the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh.
The thesis also explores the context of ritual performances and the beliefs surrounding spirit mediumship at Phu Giay, drawing on direct information from local people, ritual singers, mediums, practitioners, and disciples of the Tam Tu Phu (Three and Four Realms) worship tradition. The thesis summarizes aspects of the context of these ritual performances, such as singing competitions, devotional singing, the performers of the rituals, the singers, and the attendees of these ceremonies.
In general, this thesis systematically studies the ritual chants at Phu Giay, their meaning and value, and provides a brief overview from a cultural anthropological perspective of the activities related to ritual chanting at Phu Giay, one of the important relics of the Tam Tu Phu (Three and Four Palaces) worship belief. In particular, the personality and qualities of the people of Phu Giay, Nam Dinh expressed through adoration writing have been generalized. The thesis also pays special attention to the belief of the people here in the gods, especially in the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh.
The thesis also explores the adoration literature in the context of performing the ritual of the hau dong, Three Palacesworship in Phu Giay, with information from the local people, the chanters, the mediums, practitioners, followers of the worship. The thesis has generalized aspects of the context of the adoration literature, such as singing contests, religioussongs, and studied the participations of the people performing the rituals, chanters and people attending these ceremonies, etc.
In general, the thesis scientifically studies the adoration literature in Phu Giay to explore the meaning and value of these texts, and briefly reviews from the cultural anthropological approach the related activities at Phu Giay, one of the important relics of the worship of the Three Palaces.
