Assessing depression can utilize various methods such as observation, clinical interviews, evaluation based on the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and results from various scales, paying particular attention to age ranges to select the appropriate scale.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has shown significant effectiveness in intervening with students exhibiting symptoms of depression. Follow-up after intervention reveals substantial changes in the client's cognition and behavior; the client is able to challenge unhelpful beliefs, adjust their behavior more appropriately, and experience more positive emotions. The client also enhances their knowledge related to depression and becomes proficient in applying new skills.
11. Practical applicability: This thesis presents a step-by-step process for conducting a clinical case, including assessment, treatment planning, and treatment implementation using CBT therapy.
