10. Summary of the thesis results:
Traumatic childhood experiences are a significant underlying factor in the development and onset of several serious psychological disorders in both childhood and adulthood. This study provides an overview of childhood trauma and its effects on adulthood, its symptoms and assessment methods, while employing a cognitive-behavioral therapy approach—one of the most proven effective therapeutic approaches in supporting clients with trauma issues.
The research results showed that: Clients who experienced childhood trauma in the study exhibited psychological disorders, distorted self-beliefs, and the effects of childhood trauma significantly impacted their current lives. Through psychological support with cognitive-behavioral therapy, the symptoms of depression were reduced, self-worth was built, and the impact of trauma was addressed. The restructuring of self-perception led to greater happiness for the clients.
11. Practical Applications: Based on the results obtained through theoretical research and practical clinical case studies, this thesis contributes to providing further theories on childhood trauma and demonstrates the effectiveness of using cognitive behavioral therapy in intervening in the psychological problems of women who have experienced childhood trauma. This also emphasizes the importance of research on childhood trauma in Vietnam and the role and application of psychotherapy in general, and cognitive behavioral therapy in particular, in addressing psychological issues arising from childhood trauma.

Summary of the findings of the thesis:
Childhood traumatic experience is a crucial cause resulting in the development and onset of severe psychological disorders in both childhood and adulthood. Within this research, the author demonstrates the literature review about childhood trauma, the assessment methods and the cognitive behavioral approach - one of the evidence-based approaches being proven as the most efficient in supporting traumatic problems for clients.
The findings show that the client in this research had symptoms of psychological disorder, irrational self-belief and dysfunctional aspects in the current life due to childhood traumatic experience. By providing psychological support, in the scope of cognitive behavioral approach, the author has managed to help the client alleviate the symptoms of depression, build up a sense of self-worth, an ability to cope with traumatic effects, and to restructure the self-cognition. Hence, the client could finally experience life satisfaction and well-being.
Practical applicability:
Based on theoretical research and clinical application, the thesis has enriched the theoretical base for childhood trauma and the efficiency of cognitive behavioral therapy on childhood traumatic experience among women. Furthermore, the author wanted to emphasize the significant role of childhood trauma research in the context of Vietnam, as well as the application of psychological therapy, in general, and of cognitive behavioral therapy, in particular, on childhood traumatic problems.
