10. Summary of thesis results:

The life of Taiwanese migrant workers in Vietnam is a new research direction in the research literature on migrant workers. The topic has highlighted a corner of the current situation of legal foreign migrant workers in Vietnam in general, especially recreating the migration picture of Taiwanese workers when they came here (Formosa project), discovering the common difficulties and advantages of Taiwanese migrant workers when working in Vietnam. And realizing that, besides the spontaneous forms of migration without legality, high organization, high-skilled workers... there are still legal forms of labor.

The two migration journeys are different in form, advantages and difficulties, but the lives of migrant workers still have common points in their journey of leaving their homeland: having migration networks specifically for them in a new working environment, having economic purposes and facing inherent difficulties such as lack of affection, language and cultural differences, health problems, etc.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

Working lives of Taiwanese immigrants in Vietnam is a new direction in research topic of migrant workers. The topic highlights present status of foreign immigrants working in Vietnam in general, especially; Panorama view of Taiwanese immigrants working in Formosa project is resurgent. The research is also a helpful resource to discover general advantages & disadvantages that Taiwanese immigrants working in Vietnam meet. Almost immigrants go to work in Vietnam with legal contracts; however, there are some migrant workers who have low working level & no government permission is also working there. We are easy to see in this research not only differences but also similarities between them. All of them have to leave their country for economic purpose & learn to adapt themselves in new environment. They can't avoid chronic difficulties of different language, distinguished culture, lack of affection & heath problems, so on.
