In researching this topic, we aim for the following objectives:

Firstly, the thesis provides an overview of artistic thinking, poetic thinking, and the influence of poetic concepts on poetic thinking. Simultaneously, the thesis clarifies the concept of argumentative poetry, highlighting its characteristics: the dominance of theoretical thinking, didactic language, discourse, argumentation, the development of argumentative poetry in Vietnam, and recognizing argumentation as the core element shaping the style of Chế Lan Viên.

Secondly, the thesis analyzes the contemporary nationalistic inspiration and the lyrical self in Chế Lan Viên's political poetry: historical inspiration about "Desolation" and metaphysical thinking, contemporary nationalistic inspiration and historical dialectical thinking, the argumentative and philosophical lyrical self.

Thirdly, the thesis also analyzes and highlights the artistic characteristics in Che Lan Vien's poetry: genre: free verse and quatrains; language: argumentative, didactic, speculative; symbolism: the underworld, history.

When researching this thesis title we aim to achieve the following objectives:
First of all, the thesis already outlines the artistic thoughts, poetic thoughts, and the ruling of poetry conception to the poetic thoughts. Simultaneously, the thesis also specifies the conception of political commentary poetry, indicating the following characteristics: dominant and theoretical thoughts, language of discourse, meaningful expression, discourse, and the development of political commentary poetry in Vietnam and it is realized that the political commentary is to be as core elements to make up styles of Che Lan Vien.
Secondly, the thesis analyzes inspiration of era and nation and lyrical ego in political commentary poetry of Che Lan Vien: historical inspiration about the "Devastated" things and metaphysical thoughts, era and nation's inspiration and historical dialectical thoughts, philosophical and argued lyrical ego.
