11. Summary of thesis results:

Explaining the meaning of words after each reading in the Vietnamese textbook for primary school helps students understand the meaning of difficult words and "key" words in the text, thereby correctly understanding the content of the reading. The thesis has handled the following tasks:

Firstly, we present the theoretical basis related to the topic: the authors' views on Vietnamese words, the method of forming Vietnamese words, the meanings of words and ways of interpreting words, and the bases for interpreting words in Vietnamese textbooks at the primary level.

Second, we will conduct a survey of the interpretations of synonyms and antonyms after each Reading lesson in Vietnamese books from grades 2 to 5.

Third, after surveying and analyzing the data, we made comments and analyzed the reasonable and unreasonable points of explaining words after each reading in Vietnamese textbooks for primary school. Next, we evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of each way of explaining. And finally, we made some suggestions on how to explain words for students in each grade level of primary school.

Interpreting the word meaning after each reading in Vietnamese textbooks for primary schools, to help students understand the meaning of difficult words, the “pivotal” words in the text, then comprehend the content of the text accurately. The thesis has dealt with the following:

Firstly, we present the theoretical basis related to the topic: the views of authors about Vietnamese words, the method creating Vietnamese words, the meaning of words and manners on interpreting words, bases for interpreting words in Vietnamese textbooks for primary schools.

Secondly, we will survey the manners on interpreting categorizing – compound words and summarizing – compound words after each reading exercise in Vietnamese textbooks from Grade 2 to Grade 5.

Thirdly, after surveying and analyzing data, we comment and analyze the appropriate and inappropriate points on interpretation of words after each reading exercise in Vietnamese textbooks for primary schools. After that, we evaluate advantages and limitations of each interpreting method. Last but not least, there are several suggestions for interpretation of words for each grade in primary schools.
