With the aim of clarifying the implementation of regulations on gender mainstreaming in the development and implementation of policies to support the elderly in Vietnam, thereby proposing solutions to improve the quality of gender mainstreaming in the development of policies to support the elderly, the thesis focuses on the following contents:

Systematize the theoretical and practical basis of gender mainstreaming in the development of laws and policies to support the elderly, study current policies and laws regulating gender mainstreaming in the development and implementation of current policies to support the elderly.

Review and evaluate the level of compliance with regulations on gender mainstreaming in the development and implementation of policies to support the elderly at the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

Propose solutions and recommendations to make the implementation of gender mainstreaming regulations in policy development to support the elderly more effective.

The thesis has synthesized and generalized issues related to gender mainstreaming in the development of policies and laws on the elderly in general and policies to support the elderly in particular through the process of developing 5 important documents and policies related to the elderly. The results of the thesis can contribute to making the gender mainstreaming work of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs more effective.

With the results of synthesis research, survey and practical assessment, the proposals and solutions proposed in the thesis can help in building and perfecting policies and laws on labor and society in general, the elderly and supporting the elderly in particular.
