The development of language in general is closely linked to the development of society. The study of terminology in linguistics is also one of the major contributions of the field of linguistic research.

With the extremely rapid development over the past 30 years of reform and opening up in China, many new words and terms have emerged, changing the face of the Chinese language in general and political terminology in particular. Furthermore, socio-political terminology is a special field, always deeply reflecting the political landscape of a nation and the material and spiritual lives of its people.

This thesis studies and surveys the new socio-political terminology that emerged in the report of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in relation to the Vietnamese language. The thesis aims to contribute to the study of the development of Chinese socio-political terminology in general and some of its influences on the Vietnamese language.

We employed methods and techniques such as: delineating word boundaries, classification, quantitative statistical analysis; structural and semantic analysis of terms; and scientific thinking methods such as induction and deduction to thoroughly examine the presence of vocabulary in the report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, specifically analyzing the most representative words among them. Among these, the most significant task was the survey of polysyllabic words, through an analysis of the political landscape both domestically and internationally in China, and the classification of polysyllabic terms in the fields of economics, politics, cultural life, phrases, idioms, etc.

We also analyzed the words and meanings of socio-political terms with new expressions and their relevance to the Vietnamese language. Through statistical classification methods, structural analysis, and historical and cultural studies, we analyzed key words emphasized by society and frequently appearing in political reports, thereby exploring the development of Chinese society from ancient times to the present.

Language is the material that creates a culture with a unique national identity; it is in language that the characteristics of human psychology and thought, and the national culture, are most clearly expressed. Socio-political terminology bears the strong characteristics of national culture, reflecting customs, traditions, the socio-political context, and the living conditions of the people.
