10. Summary of the thesis results:
Based on theoretical research and the current situation of anxiety among the elderly in Hanoi, this study assesses the levels of anxiety, coping mechanisms, and subjective and objective causes of anxiety in the elderly. Specifically, it examines the impact on anxiety in elderly individuals whose families have members exhibiting deviant or illegal behavior. The research results show that 21.1% of the elderly experience mild anxiety, 5.9% experience moderate anxiety, and 73% experience no anxiety; 51.2% of respondents regularly engage in anxiety-related coping behaviors. The level of anxiety coping varies across age groups. Factors such as personal health and the illegal/administrative behavior of family members influence anxiety in the elderly. Through this, I propose measures to raise awareness about coping mechanisms for anxiety and improve the mental health of elderly people in Hanoi.
