10. Summary of the thesis results:

The Sino-American relationship is one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world today. A notable development in recent Sino-American relations is China's proposal to build a "new type of great power relationship between China and the United States." China and the United States are two major and particularly important partners for Vietnam. Vietnam is facing a difficult situation and a dilemma in its relations with both China and the United States.

This thesis has researched and clarified the basis for the formation of a new type of great power relationship between China and the United States; the process of building this new type of great power relationship between China and the United States; the objectives of China and the United States; the factors influencing the process of building this new type of great power relationship between China and the United States; predicted the trends of this new type of great power relationship between China and the United States; and offered some policy recommendations for Vietnam.
