10. Summary of thesis results:
The thesis focuses on studying common Portuguese phonetic errors of Vietnamese students. The main objective of the study is to identify errors and determine the causes of errors in order to propose some solutions to overcome these phonetic errors. Through analysis, we found that the phonetic errors that students often encounter mainly come from two objective and subjective causes. The objective cause is due to the difference in the phonetic system of Portuguese and the mother tongue, while the subjective cause is due to students not having a firm grasp of the phonetic rules.
11. Practical applicability: For teachers, the thesis helps teachers improve teaching methods and develop learning materials to help students overcome pronunciation errors. For learners, the thesis can help students overcome common pronunciation errors and improve communication skills.
12. Further research directions: We hope to be able to expand the scope of the topic further to be able to identify all the Portuguese phonetic errors that Vietnamese students make, in order to be able to support them to achieve the highest efficiency in the learning process.

Published works related to the thesis: Scientific research paper titled: Similarities and differences in the combination of initial consonants and front vowels in Vietnamese and Portuguese, published in the Proceedings of the 2020-2021 school year teacher scientific conference of the Portuguese Department - Hanoi University.
