10. Summary of thesis results:

The thesis studies the conditions and current status of community tourism development in Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An, Quang Nam. The research results show that Cam Thanh has many favorable conditions for community tourism development. The exploitation of this type of tourism has initially achieved encouraging results, attracting the participation of a large number of local residents, although most of them are still at the passive and informational level. Tourism activities have generally brought satisfaction to the majority of tourists. However, community tourism here still has many shortcomings that need to be resolved, focusing on two main issues: 1) management organization still has many limitations, and 2) tourism products lack uniqueness. Given these conditions and current status, the thesis proposes practical solutions towards the goal of sustainable tourism development in Cam Thanh commune.

These research results are the basis for authorities at all levels and relevant parties to make timely adjustments and outline the right directions to more effectively exploit community tourism in Cam Thanh commune.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis aims to study the conditions and current status of community-based tourism (CBT) development in Cam Thanh Commune, Hoi An, Quang Nam. The results show that Cam Thanh has many favorable conditions to develop community-based tourism. The community-based tourism has initially achieved good results, involving a large number of local people although their participation are listed at passive or informative levels (Pretty, 1995). The majority of interviewed visitors/tourists agreed that they were satisfied with CBT there. However, there are still many dangers, including weak management, lack of distinctive tourism products, etc. Based on those findings, the thesis proposes suitable solutions for the sustainable development of CBT in Cam Thanh commune.

The results of this research suggest recommendations for the authorities and stakeholders to develop effectively and sustainably community-based tourism in Cam Thanh.
