Chapter 4 of the thesis focuses on clarifying the attitudes and feelings of transgender people regarding the changes in their lives since the legal recognition of transgender rights in Vietnam on January 1, 2017. Generally, most transgender participants in the study expressed their approval of the Law protecting the rights of transgender people. However, the impact of the recognition of transgender rights in Vietnam on different transgender groups also differs: For transgender women, the main concern is the recognition of gender reassignment surgery in Vietnam, while transgender men are most concerned with changing their names and gender on personal documents, as well as the recognition of same-sex marriage.
