By focusing on analyzing the subjects of social critique regarding the reform of primary education, the critique of the irrationalities in primary education is analyzed from the following perspectives: critique of the reform of thinking and viewpoints, educational goals; reform of the content and methods of primary education; the general education curriculum and primary school textbooks; the role and responsibilities of teachers and the reform of state management of education and education officials; the counter-strategies among the print newspapers mentioned and the appropriateness of their forms of expression; the thesis also points out that social critique of the reform of primary education is more effective in newspapers such as Tuoi Tre (Ho Chi Minh City), Saigon Giai Phong (Saigon Liberation), and Tia Sang (Bright Light) than in newspapers such as Hanoi Moi (New Hanoi) and Giao Duc va Thoi Dai (Education and Times).
