This thesis comprehensively synthesizes the theoretical framework of library information products and services (LISP) and the practical basis of LISP at the Ho Chi Minh City Open University Library. Specifically, the thesis examines the theoretical basis, including: the content of the concepts of library information products and services; the role and influencing factors; and the evaluation criteria for library products and services in general and university libraries in particular. Regarding the practical basis, the thesis investigates the significance of studying the LISP of the Ho Chi Minh City Open University Library and provides an overview of the Ho Chi Minh City Open University Library.

Simultaneously, the thesis also provides a thorough and in-depth analysis of the current state of library information products and services at Ho Chi Minh City Open University. It evaluates various types of library information products and services based on established criteria. Furthermore, the author objectively assesses the advantages and limitations of these products and services, identifying their underlying causes.

This thesis has presented a system of solutions and recommendations to develop and improve the information and library products and services of the Library of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, contributing to enhancing the library's service capacity during the period of higher education reform.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis :

This thesis is a comprehensive piece of theories about library information products and services, studying the case of Ho Chi Minh city Open university library. In detail, the thesis has reviewed the theoretical background of the following: definitions of library information products and services; roles, and affecting issues; criteria for library product and service evaluation in general, and university library evaluation criteria in particular. Regarding the practical basis, the thesis has identified the meanings of product and service research at HCMC Open university library.

The thesis has been analyzed carefully and in depth the current library information products and services offered by HCMCOU library. It also gives evaluation of the products and services based on the identified criteria. Simultaneously, the author stated comments on strengths and weaknesses of the library information products and services provided, reflecting some possible reasons.

The thesis also suggests the solutions and recommendations which help develop and improve the library information products and services of HCMCOU library in order to enhance services to users supplied at HCMCOU library in higher education innovative period.
