10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis systematically explores the discourses of love, from symbolic representations to various scientific studies of human culture. Furthermore, it examines three trends in the formation of love discourse in film: romanticization, tragedyization, and sexualization – which are also characteristic elements typical of the nature of love and the basic formula of the romantic film genre. Each trend forms a narrative thread with a process of construction and development, possessing distinct characteristics and qualities. These three trends can appear individually or in combination in a romantic film, not only to satisfy the expectations and entertainment tastes of the general audience but also to contribute to the aesthetic and artistic value in the creation of a unique love story.

Applying discourse theory approaches through two film adaptations:The English patientandThe rowderInterestingly, the two love affairs...The English patientandThe rowderAll of these films depict love stories set against the backdrop of World War II/post-war events, retold through the characters' streams of memory, and all are traumatic narratives of love. But in each film, we "read" and discover a unique and distinctive narrative of love. The memories of love in...The English patientas the formation of the character's identity. Love inThe readeras a cultural code within a frame of reference that aligns with ethics, knowledge, and ideology. From the case of...The English patientandThe rowderWe realized that, in order to create an immortal love story in art in general and cinema in particular, that love must not only touch the emotions of the viewers but also contribute to enlightening their awareness, "revealing the divine essence within each of us."

In summary, this thesis approaches love from a discourse perspective within cinematic works, while also prompting further reflection on the nature, humanity, and meaning of human existence on this earth.

The thesis has studied a systematic way the discourse of love from the symbols to some scientific studies of human culture. Besides, it surveys three trends that form of discourse of love in the movie: romanticized, dramatized, sexualized - are also typical elements for the nature of love and are basic formula of romantic type. According to each trend, the discourse of love forms a line with process of formation and development, that has specific and distinct characteristics. These three trends may appear singly or combined together in an emotional film not only aimed at satisfying "level to expect," entertainment tastes of the mass audience, but also contribute to aesthetic, artistic value in the process of creating a unique love story.

Applied discourse approach through two films that were adapted isThe English HospitalandThe rowderInterestingly, the love inThe English HospitalandThe rowderare love fate is placed in the context of war / post-World War II, are reproduced in the flow of the characters' memories and are the injuries of love. But in each film, we "read" and discover the special and different creation of love discourse. Memories of love inThe English Hospitalis considered as the formation of the identity of the character. Love inThe Readeris considered as a cultural code of ethical frame of reference, knowledge, ideology. From the case ofThe English HospitalandThe rowder, we realize that, in order to form and create a timeless love story in art in general and movie in particular, that love not only touches the viewers' emotions, but also to contribute to enlightened awareness, which "reveals the divine principles in each of us".

In short, the thesis has approached the love from the perspective of discourse in cinematographic works, simultaneously has elicited further issues thinking about nature, about human nature and the meaning of human existence on earth.
