- Adhering closely to the research framework; based on the theoretical framework of journalism studies, the thesis has researched, synthesized, and built a theoretical foundation related to the research problem. The thesis has clearly outlined the characteristics of content, form, and production organization process of investigative reporting on television.

- Based on the established theoretical framework, this thesis studies the current state of investigative reporting on the People's Police Television channel through surveys, analyses, and evaluations of works in two programs: "Investigation Through Viewer Letters" and "Hidden Camera," conducted from December 2015 to May 2016. Through the analysis of the content and form of the works and interviews with reporters and editors about the program production process, the thesis identifies the successes as well as the limitations of investigative reporting on the People's Police Television channel.

Based on the theoretical and practical foundations studied and surveyed, this thesis proposes specific recommendations to improve the quality of investigative reporting on the People's Police Television channel in the future. These recommendations focus on four groups of solutions: solutions from the State's policy mechanisms; solutions regarding the orientation and strategy of the People's Police Television channel; solutions to improve the quality of human resources; and solutions to innovate programs and enhance modern technical equipment.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings can be used as a reference for training and theoretical research in journalism at media and journalism training institutions, research institutes, etc. The thesis is not only relevant to the People's Police Television but can also be immediately applied to the practical work of investigative journalists today.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

- Sticking to the oriented research framework and based on theory of journalism, the thesis has analyzed, synthesized and developed a theoretical basis for research questions. They are characteristics of investigative reporting and its features of content, form and production process.

- Based on the theoretical basis, a study on status of investigative reports of Public Security News Channel was conducted through surveying, analyzing and reviewing two TV programs: Investigation by Audience's letter and Hidden Camera in the period December 2015 - May 2016. The contents and forms of the reports of the programs were analyzed and production departments including editors, reporters, show producers were interviewed on the production process. This has indicated success and limitations of investigative reporting of ANTV.

- Based on the theoretical basis and the status study, the thesis has made specific recommendations and proposals to enhance the quality of investigative reporting of ANTV in the near future. In detail, there are four solution clusters: 1) Policy and Mechanism; 2) Orientation and strategy of security; 3) Human resource's capacity enhancement; 4) Program innovation and advanced technical investments.

11. Practical applicability:

The outcomes of the research can be used as reference materials for training and research in journalism and communication at institutes… The thesis provides applicable values ​​not only to ANTV reporters but also to investigative reporters at other TVs.

From this research, further studies can be carried out in developing solutions to enhance the quality of investigative reports in generals and/or to dig deep down in a perspective of investigative reporting such as Characteristics of investigation, Role-playing, Testing method; Ethics for investigative reporters…
