The intellectual shift in Vietnam during the late 19th and early 20th centuries reflects the changing conditions of Vietnamese society, economy, politics, and culture. Its content is characteristic of the social and intellectual transformation of the Vietnamese people during this period. Within this rich intellectual shift in Vietnam, a particularly sensitive and subtle aspect is the transformation in the understanding of religion in general, and Buddhism in particular, which has received little attention. This content plays a crucial role, enriching Vietnamese thought and serving as a bridge for the dissemination and development of revolutionary ideas in Vietnam in the subsequent period.

Vietnam ideological shift late nineteenth century period of the early twentieth century was a reflection of the transition of existing conditions of social, economic, political, cultural, Vietnam, its content to characterize the social transition and human thought Vietnam period.
