This thesis focuses on researching and presenting the following basic results:
In Chapter 1 – an overview of the topic "The Role of the Press in the Activities of People's Councils at all levels in Son La Province," the author focuses on several issues concerning general theories of People's Councils, the Marxist-Leninist perspective, and Ho Chi Minh's thought on the role of the press. Specifically, the research clarifies the position, role, and functions of the People's Councils, and the role of the press in socio-economic life in general and in the activities of People's Councils at all levels in particular.
Chapter 2 of the thesis delves into surveying, analyzing, and evaluating the limitations in disseminating information about the activities of People's Councils at all levels. Based on the analysis and evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses in the communication efforts of local media outlets regarding the activities of People's Councils at all levels, the thesis proposes a system of solutions to overcome these limitations and improve the quality of communication about the current activities of People's Councils at all levels. This chapter also provides an overview of the results of the activities of People's Councils at all levels in Son La province during the 2011-2016 term. Son La Newspaper made maximum use of articles reflecting the results of the activities of People's Councils at all levels, reporting on the opening and closing ceremonies, the survey and supervision activities of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Committees of the People's Council, and the voter outreach activities of People's Council representatives. Son La Radio and Television Station, through numerous news reports, utilized visual language, commentary, and a rich variety of interview techniques. These factors have greatly contributed to news reports about the activities of the People's Councils at all levels in Son La province.
The most significant outcome for the thesis author is: Based on an assessment and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses in the dissemination of information about the activities of the People's Councils at all levels in Son La province, the thesis proposes solutions to improve the quality of programs and content of news reporting by media agencies; and to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and position of the People's Councils at all levels in the locality. For officials assigned to advise and assist the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the thesis will also serve as a basis for proposing and advising on further innovation and improvement of the quality of activities of the Provincial People's Council in particular and the People's Councils at all levels in Son La province in general.
11. Practical applications:
With this topic, the thesis has made significant contributions to supplementing and developing the theoretical system regarding journalistic genres disseminated through local media, especially news, reports, and feature stories. In some aspects, the topic will make pioneering contributions to the statistical analysis, evaluation, commentary, and analysis from both content and form perspectives. This will contribute to laying the foundation for further research on the dissemination of information about the activities of the People's Councils at all levels in Son La province as presented in the media.
The research findings, stemming from the theoretical and practical aspects of this thesis, will have an impact on central and local press agencies, print media, and television stations, and especially on journalists, in re-evaluating the impact and effectiveness of these works. From this, the significant role of propaganda in the activities of elected bodies will be recognized. The thesis also hopes to contribute to improving journalistic skills for elected representatives and, in particular, to the dissemination of information about the activities of elected bodies, providing an additional source of information for researchers, management agencies, and anyone interested in this issue.

Further research directions: If conditions permit, this thesis could open up many more in-depth research directions in the dissemination of information about the activities of People's Councils at all levels: For example, regarding visual language, the details of content in articles and reports presented in different forms of media... Diversifying the forms of presentation on print media as well as radio and television.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis: The thesis focuses on studies and some basic findings are as follows:
In Chapter 1 - Overview of the subject “The role of newspapers and magazines in activities of people's councils at different levels in Son La Province”, the author concentrates on some general theoretical bases of people's councils, Marxist-Leninist points of view, Ho Chi Minh's Thoughts on the role of newspapers and magazines. In which the studies focus on highlighting the position, role and functions of people's councils, of newspapers and magazines in the socio-economic life in general and in the activities of people's councils at different levels in particular.
In Chapter 2, the thesis deeply surveys, analyzes and assesses the limitations in propagating activities of people's councils at different levels. Based on analyzing, assessing the strengths, weaknesses in propagation activities of local press agencies concerning activities of people's councils at different levels, the thesis proposes a solution system for overcoming the limitations above to improve the propagation quality concerning activities of people's councils at different levels for the time being. In this chapter, the author also outlines the activities of the people's councils at different levels in Son La Province during their term of 2011-2016. Son La newspapers have made full use of the articles representing the results of the activities of the people's councils at different levels, covering the activities of opening, ending plenary sessions, surveying, supervising of the standing committees of people's councils, committees of people's councils, and meeting voters of people's councils' delegates. Son La Radio and Television Broadcasting Station, through its many reportages, has used the image language, commentaries in various ways to exploit at interviews. It is these aspects that have created the great values of the reportages about the activities of the people's councils at different levels in Son La Province.
The greatest finding the author of the thesis: Based on analyzing, assessing the strengths, weaknesses in propagation activities of local press agencies concerning activities of people's councils at different levels, the thesis proposes solutions for improving the program, coverage quality of press agencies; propagation quality concerning activities of people's councils, thus helping improve council effectiveness, efficiency, and position of people's councils at different levels in localities. For the cadres who are assigned the task of acting as advisors, assistants to the standing committees of people's councils, committees of provincial people's councils, the thesis will serve as a foundation for negating, advising on innovating, further improving the operating quality of provincial people's councils as well as people's councils at different levels in Son La Province.

With this subject, the thesis is of great significance in helping to supplement and develop the theoretical system of the genres of newspapers and magazines in the local press system, particularly news, articles, reportages. In certain respects, the subject makes initial contribution to summing up, assessing, commenting and analyzing in the form and content of representation. This will help create bases for deeper studying the issue of propagating activities of people's councils at different levels in Son La Province as represented in the media.
The findings of the studies based on the theory and practice of the thesis will exert influence on the press agencies, the system of printed newspapers, central and local television, and particularly journalists in observing, assessing the effects, impacts of such works, from that to identify the major role of propagation activities towards activities of electoral agencies…
The thesis is hoped to contribute to improving the journalism skills of the delegates favored by the people, and especially to propagating activities of elected agencies.
This constitutes and additional source of information for researchers, management agencies and those who are interested in this matter.
12. Further research directions:
If conditions permit, from this thesis, many ways to study deeper may probably be opened up in propagation activities in relation with activities of people's councils at different levels, for example, in terms of language, images, details, contents of articles, reportages as represented in the different genres of newspapers and magazines…, the diverse forms of representing in the system of printed newspapers as well as on radio and television.
