10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis has systematized the general theoretical basis of the interview genre and supplemented and developed some theoretical issues regarding the portrait-creating interview format in Vietnamese print media.

This thesis examines the content and formal aspects of biographical interviews published in newspapers.Sports - Culture Weekend, Labor Weekendand Special TopicWorld Security Mid-Month – End of Month(from January 2012 to December 2014) through the following factors: number and scale of interviews, subjects, questions, headlines, introductory paragraphs, other supporting information, and aspects of content reflected.

This thesis identifies existing problems with profile-based interviews in Vietnamese print media today and proposes solutions to improve the quality of interviews and attract reader interest.

11. Practical applications:

This study provides a comprehensive overview of portrait interviews in Vietnamese print media today. The research findings, stemming from both theoretical and practical perspectives, will impact media organizations and journalists in understanding the genre's characteristics, role, and importance in print media. Furthermore, it identifies existing shortcomings in the current state of portrait interviews, explains their causes, and proposes solutions to improve the quality of interviews in Vietnamese print media.

This course provides journalists with the skills to present interview-style profile pieces effectively in newspapers by combining various elements such as headlines, lead paragraphs, information boxes, photos, subheadings, etc. An effective combination of these elements will make the interview profile more engaging and memorable for readers.

The research findings of this thesis on profile-building interviews in print media show that investing in improving the quality of interview work is a practical approach, contributing to promoting innovation and transformation in print media in the current period of fierce competition with television, radio, and especially with online newspapers, in order to leverage strengths and affirm the position of print media in the overall journalistic landscape.

This study continues to examine profile-based interviews in various journalistic formats from a comparative perspective, aiming to identify similarities and differences between these methods across different media.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis summarizes the general theoretical bases of the interview genre and supplements, develops some theoretical questions of the interview in the portrayal genre in Vietnam newspapers.

The thesis surveys the aspects of form and content of interview in the genre portrayal in theSports and Culture Weekend, Labor Weekendand the special issues ofGlobal security between mid-month and end of month(from January 2012 to December 2014) through the factors: the number and length of interviews, characters, questions, titles, sapo, other supplementary information, and the aspects of the contents represented.

The thesis points out the dangers of interview in the portrayal genre in printed newspapers in Vietnam at the present time and proposes solutions to improve interview quality and attract the reader's interest.

11. Practical applicability:

This project gives a panoramic view over in the portrayal genre in Vietnam newspapers at present. The findings of the studies based on the theory and practice of the thesis will exert influence on the press agencies, journalists and media workers in correctly recognizing the specific features, role, position of the interview in the portrayal genre in printed newspapers. Not only restricted to that, but also in identifying the concerns from the real situation of interview in the genre portrayal and explaining the causes, from that to proposes solutions to improve interview works in our country's printed newspapers.

The project provides journalists with skills at representing interviews in the portrayal genre newspapers to achieve information efficiency, in combination with numerous factors such as titles, sapo, information boxes, pictures, sub-tiles…The efficient combination between information gates will make interviews in the portrayal genre lively and have their hallmarks in the reader's eyes.

The findings of the studies of interview in the portrayal genre in printed newspapers have shown that the investment in improving interview work quality is practical way to help push forward innovation of printed newspapers in the period of competing stiffly with radio and television, especially with cyber, electronic newspapers at present, in order to bring the advantages into play and assert the position of printed newspapers in press life as a whole.

12. Further research directions:

To continue studying interview in the genre portrayal in various genres of newspapers and magazines from the comparative angles, from that to point out the homogeneities and differentiations of interview in the various genres of newspapers and magazines.
