10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis focuses on researching and presenting the following basic results:
Chapter 1 – “Theoretical Foundations and Essential Knowledge on Food Safety,” focuses on some general theories regarding journalistic information, the characteristics of different media types in relation to advisory and guidance information, and outlines the overall picture of food safety issues in Vietnam. Specifically, the study clarifies the concepts of “information,” “journalistic information,” “advice and guidance,” “food safety,” and “food safety advisory and guidance information.” By systematically reviewing the characteristics of four media types (print, radio, television, and online), the study analyzes the impact of the advantages and disadvantages of each media type on advisory and guidance information.
Chapter two of the thesis delves into surveying and analyzing the content and presentation of food safety advice and guidance information in Vietnamese newspapers during the years 2014-2015.In terms of contentInformation and guidance on food safety in the press are quite comprehensive and thorough, covering macro-level issues related to mechanisms and policies such as: disseminating and advising on legal policies, and state management of food safety. In particular, the press also shares and conveys experiences and knowledge in ensuring food safety for family meals, school meals, company meals, etc.; organizes forums for exchange, answers questions, provides recommendations and warnings based on specific cases, and provides necessary information to the public about banned substances, additives, chemicals, etc.In terms of method of expressionThe press also utilizes and exploits the advantages of each type to the fullest, making diverse use of journalistic genres such as news articles, reports, interviews, panel discussions, online interactions, etc.
In this chapter, the author also clearly identifies the groups involved in providing advice and guidance on food safety in the press. This affirms the position, role, and importance of selecting and inviting experts, scientists, and managers who are suitable for providing advice and guidance on food safety in the press.
The survey results across all four types of media also show that information and guidance on food safety accounts for a very modest proportion compared to information in other fields. The target audience for this information and guidance is primarily food consumers, while food production, processing, and business establishments receive less attention. Several other shortcomings and inadequacies in terms of content and presentation are also clarified. Based on this, the author boldly proposes several solutions to improve the quality of information and guidance on food safety in the media.
Notably, the thesis also conducted a public opinion survey, with 72% of respondents believing that the media's provision of information and guidance on food safety is essential, and that online newspapers were considered the most convenient form of access to this information. The main concern and apprehension among the public today is the presence of banned substances, chemicals, additives, preservatives, and artificial colorings in food that are difficult to detect using only the human senses. This is considered an indicator of public awareness and attitude towards the complexities of food safety issues today. Based on this indicator, media organizations can appropriately plan and invest in providing information and guidance on food safety.
11. Practical applications:
With this topic, the thesis has made a significant contribution to supplementing and developing the theoretical system regarding the flow of advisory and guidance information in modern journalism.
The research findings, both theoretical and practical, presented in this thesis will have an impact on media organizations, and especially on reporters and journalists, in their understanding and evaluation of the effectiveness of informative and advisory publications on food safety. Particularly in the context of the increasingly complex issue of food safety, it is crucial for the media to continue to delve deeper into and disseminate knowledge to improve consumer understanding of food safety.
This thesis hopes to also contribute an additional source of information for researchers, regulatory agencies, and anyone interested in this issue.
12. Future research directions:
If circumstances permit, this thesis could also open up many avenues for further research: for example, exploring the use of non-verbal language in journalistic products providing advice and guidance on food safety; or researching whether public interest and attitudes towards journalistic information on food safety change according to demographic characteristics…

10. Summary of thesis results:
The thesis focuses on researching and bringing some basic results as follows:
In Chapter 1 - "Theoretical Foundation and essential information about food safety", the authors concentrate on handling some general theories relevant to the Press, some features of various newspaper types towards consulting information, guidelines; and portraying food safety situation in Vietnam. Such definitions as “information”, “newspaper information”, “counseling, guidance”, “food safety” and “food safety guidelines and consulting information” are of great concern. The author also summarizes unique features of 4 types of newspaper (printed, radio, television and electronic newspaper) in order to analyze how pros and cons of each newspaper type affects consulting information and guideline.
In Chapter two, the thesis goes deeply into surveying and analyzing the content and presenting method of food safety guideline and consulting information in Vietnam Press in the period of 2014 - 2015.In terms of content, food safety guideline and consulting information were widely and comprehensively mentioned by issues related to policies and mechanisms on macro level such as: propagandizing and counseling legal policies and State management activities on food safety. Especially, Press also shares experience and knowledge in food safety at households, schools, enterprises and so on; forums organized to exchange information, answer any question, spread warning on specific circumstances as well as provide necessary information in prohibited substances, additives, chemicals ...In terms of presenting method,Press completely exploited the advantages of each newspaper type and employed a wide range of tools such as news, articles, reports, interviews, seminars, online exchange programs..
In this chapter, the author also points out the specific groups that provide food safety guideline and consulting information on Press, which affirms the important role of proper selection activities of invited experts, scientists, managers who are compatible with food safety guideline and consulting information on Press.
Survey results on all four types of newspaper show that food safety guideline and consulting information accounts for a very modest proportion in comparison with other fields. The targeted receivers of food safety guideline and consulting information are mainly food consumers whereas food manufacturers, processors and sellers are paid little attention. Furthermore, some negative situations in terms of content and presenting methods are embraced in this chapter. Thereby, the author straightly recommends some solutions with the hope to accelerate quality of food safety guideline and consulting information on press.
Notably, the thesis gathering public opinions releases that 72% of the respondents attached important to food safety guideline and consulting information on press, electronic media is intended to be the most convenient way to convey information to receivers. The problem that most of us worry is that prohibited substances, chemicals, additives, preservatives, artificial colors, etc cannot be observed by human eyes. This is considered as an indicator of perceptions, attitudes of the public in advance of the increasingly complicated issue today. Based on this indicator, the press agency should orient their investment in food safety issue.
11. Practice applicability:

In the context of increasingly complicated food safety issues, that the press continues to exploit and popularize knowledge to help improve understanding of food consumers is absolutely essential.
The thesis does hope to contribute meaningful information to researchers, authorities and those who concerns about this issue.
