10. Summary of thesis results:
The thesis is a process of surveying the world of characters in Kim Lan's short stories. The research results of the thesis hope to provide a general and complete view of the world of characters in Kim Lan's short stories, thereby affirming the position and role of Kim Lan in the development of modern Vietnamese short stories in particular and modern Vietnamese literature in general.
The thesis explores his artistic concepts in several aspects such as: concept of human, concept of beauty, concept of writing. Thereby, it affirms that Kim Lan is a writer with a progressive artistic concept, abundant creativity and a solid position in the national literary world.
In addition, the thesis also delves into the study of the world of characters in Kim Lan's short stories with prominent character types such as: "leftover head and scarred tail" characters, characters with the soul of the homeland and characters with latent vitality. His world of characters is diverse and extremely simple, that world is always close to each of us, in any circumstance, his world of characters is also associated with work, is also placed in the daily living environment and is closely attached to people, to the homeland and country. Kim Lan writes with a very simple intention as commented by literary researcher Tran Huu Ta: "Kim Lan considered writing as a way to claim for himself a dignity, a place in the small, confined life of his homeland.”.
Besides the success in the art of character building, Kim Lan also succeeded in using outstanding artistic techniques: describing the character's psychology, describing the character's appearance and actions. In addition, the language in Kim Lan's works is also a special feature, his works appear with many folk, simple words but rich in expression close to the reader.
