The thesis has systematically studied the general theoretical issues of information on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands in print media. The thesis has presented a number of concepts and definitions of terms related to the topic such as information, protecting sovereignty over seas and islands as well as the characteristics and strengths of print media... At the same time, the author has introduced the position and role of Vietnam's seas and islands, the viewpoints of our Party and State on the issue of seas and islands. Information activities on seas and islands have become one of the key tasks of state management of seas and islands in our country. In particular, the event of China's HD 981 drilling rig being illegally placed in our country's continental shelf from May 2, 2014 to July 17, 2014 has made the maritime situation in our country extremely tense. Under the leadership of the Party, the direction and guidance of the central authorities, ministries, branches and localities, the work of disseminating information about seas and islands has recently been deployed quite strongly and widely, for all classes and ages in society and has achieved remarkable results.
Our country's press has demonstrated its role by devoting all its efforts to the information front. The mass media has actively participated in informing the Party's guidelines, policies and strategies on the sea and islands. News articles, reports, columns and television programs on the sea and islands have appeared more and more in all types of press. With rich content and forms of expression, the press has contributed to strongly changing people's awareness of the position, role and potential of the sea and islands for the cause of socio-economic development of the country.
Based on that theory, the thesis continues to analyze and evaluate the current status of information work on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands in Nhan Dan Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Thanh Nien Newspaper from May 2011 to May 2014. From the survey of the content and form of information on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands in those newspapers, it can be seen that Nhan Dan Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Thanh Nien Newspaper have made great contributions to information on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands, raising public awareness, and changing their actions on issues related to seas and islands. Each newspaper has positioned itself in its own position on information on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands, one central newspaper, one local newspaper and one newspaper of the Union.
Based on the above survey and analysis results, the thesis has proposed a number of solutions to enhance the effectiveness of information in the press in general and print media in particular.
11. Practical application:
In practice, with the initial research results, the author of the thesis hopes to contribute more authentic data and a narrow perspective on a very rich and vivid practical issue of journalism activities.
12. Further research directions:
In addition to the results as analyzed and mentioned above, the thesis still has certain limitations and shortcomings such as: The storage of information and documents makes the author's survey very difficult and not as expected, leading to difficulties in finding and surveying information to have systematic assessments. In addition, the author's own qualifications are also limited, especially the understanding of the current status of information on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands is not complete, as well as not having much experience in scientific research.

This also causes problem when searching and assessing the information collected. On the other hand, the author's ability also has certain limits as he or she does not have enough sufficient knowledge about the current situation of maritime dispute and lacks of research experience.
