This thesis focuses on researching and presenting the following basic results:

Chapter 1 focuses on some general theories regarding journalists' skills in collecting and processing economic information. It introduces concepts of economic information, information collection, and information processing, and then delves into the specific skills journalists possess in this area.

Chapter 2 examines the current state of information gathering and processing by economic reporters at the Vietnam Economic Times and Investment Newspaper through in-depth interviews with economic journalists, editors, and editors-in-chief at these two publications. This provides the basis for the recommendations presented in Chapter 3.

In Chapter 3, the thesis proposes solutions and recommendations to journalists, editors-in-chief, editorial boards, journalism training institutions, relevant agencies, and the Vietnam Journalists Association to contribute to improving the information gathering and processing skills of economic journalists in Vietnam today.

11. Practical applications:

This thesis highlights the current state of information gathering and processing by economic journalists. It identifies the characteristics and experiences of journalists in the profession, discovers the advantages and limitations, and draws lessons learned. From this, it contributes to improving the professional skills of journalists.

In addition, this thesis can serve as a reference for reporters, economic editors, or journalism students still in school.

If circumstances permit, the thesis will be further developed to delve deeper into news gathering and information processing skills of journalists, or to conduct expanded investigations at other newspapers.

Thesis has focused on researching and providing some basic results as follows:

In Chapter 1, the author has focused on some general theories of skills of collecting and handling economic data of journalists. Giving the concept of economic information, collecting and handling economic data. Since then deeply analizing skills of collecting and handling economic data of journalists.

In Chapter 2, the thesis has investigated the actual situation of collecting and handling data of economic journalists of Vietnam Economic Times and Investment through in-depth interviews of journalists specializing in economics, editors and editors mentioned in chief of two newspapers above. From that creating basis for recommendations set forth in Chapter 3.

In Chapter 3, the thesis has proposed solutions and recommendations to journalists, Editors in chief, Editorial Board, journalism training institutions, functional agencies and Vietnam Journalists Association in order to contribute to improving skills of collecting and handling economic data of economic journalists in Vietnam.

11. Practical applicability:

With this topic, the thesis has point out the actual situation of collecting and handling economic data of economic journalists. Indicating the characteristics, experience in the profession of journalists. Finding out the advantages and limitations, and learned lessons about the profession. Thereby contributes to improvement of operations for journalists.

Besides, the thesis can become a reference for journalist team, economic editors or students studying major with journalism in the university.

12. Further research directions:

If skills conditions permit, the thesis will develop further in the direction of deeply analyzing skills of collecting news, information processing of journalists or investigate and expand in other newspapers.
