Summary of the thesis results:The research findings of this thesis contribute to overcoming limitations and promoting effective communication of tourism development policies by the press, helping the Party and the State, specifically Ca Mau province, to achieve their tourism development policy goals. Furthermore, it aims to improve the quality of tourism development policy communication by Vietnamese media in general, and Ca Mau media in particular, in the future.
12. Practical applications:This thesis has proposed several feasible solutions to contribute to improving the quality of tourism policy communication in Ca Mau's press in the future.
This thesis also serves as a useful reference for journalism and communication training institutions; and helps managers, policymakers, and local departments gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of journalism in communicating tourism development policies and promoting sustainable tourism development.
The findings of this thesis will also be helpful for the professional development of journalists interested in this field.
13. Future research directions:The People's Committee of Ca Mau province recently issued Plan 103/KH-UBND dated September 15, 2020, on the implementation of several products and content for promoting and publicizing Ca Mau province in 2020 and subsequent years. Accordingly, the Department of Information and Communications is responsible for creating and managing promotional channels about Ca Mau province on social media (Youtube Ca Mau; Fanpage on Facebook and Zalo); Ca Mau Radio and Television Station will develop content and produce thematic reports and video clips; and other press agencies will also develop their own plans for dissemination in accordance with the plan of the Provincial People's Committee.
In addition, from now until the end of 2020, the Ca Mau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will launch an "App" called "Ca Mau Tourism" on a mobile platform with two languages, Vietnamese and English, to promote local tourism and make it more globalized through online information technology; thereby supporting businesses in selling tourism products and services to tourists.
It is evident that Ca Mau is making efforts, along with the national tourism industry, to strengthen tourism communication activities through multimedia methods to meet the information needs of a new generation of the public.
Accordingly, media organizations have also found appropriate directions for development, which is quite clearly demonstrated by the diversification of types and media in media outlets.
Therefore, the author's next research direction is tourism communication campaigns, including media communication in newspapers, through social networks and modern digital technologies.
Because, for effective communication, unity among the stakeholders of a destination is crucial in conveying consistent messages. The main research direction aims to help the tourism industry clearly identify appropriate communication content for each target audience and the needs of tourists before, during, and after their trip; thereby promoting sustainable tourism development.
