10. Summary of thesis results:
Promoting political rights for women is an area that requires a lot of research and breakthrough and sustainable solutions. Many international organizations have conducted research and projects on the topic of gender equality in politics. However, to change women's participation in political activities, it is necessary to start at the parliament - the legislative body in each country. Promoting gender equality in political activities will not only promote women's rights but also promote the democratic process in many countries and the Vietnamese National Assembly is no exception to this process.
The thesis researches the topic with the aim of clarifying the role of IPU - the largest inter-parliamentary organization in the world in promoting women's political participation on a global scale through assessing and analyzing the activities and influence of the organization in the process of enhancing women's political participation. From there, draw conclusions about the situation of Vietnamese women participating in politics and recommend some measures to improve the effectiveness of Vietnamese female delegates' political participation and cooperation in the field of gender equality between Vietnam and IPU.
The thesis has carried out the following basic tasks to achieve the above objectives: Presenting the formation and development of the IPU, the characteristics of its operational objectives and internal organizational structures, focusing on introducing the mechanism for female parliamentarians in the IPU; Analyzing and evaluating the influence and effectiveness of the IPU's activities in promoting women's political participation according to the organization's program focuses such as raising awareness of women's influence in politics, improving the skills of female parliamentarians and promoting political equality through programs to combat violence against women; Analyzing and relating the participation of Vietnamese women in politics from the perspective of the IPU's activities in the field of policy and law. From there, some comments and recommendations are made to increase the effectiveness of Vietnamese women's political participation.
11. Practical application:
The content of the thesis is a necessary supplementary document in the field of research on gender equality in general and the scope of enhancing the role of women in politics in particular. The evaluation and analysis in the thesis can be referred to and compared to the role of international intergovernmental organizations in other studies on gender equality.
12. Further research directions:
Women’s empowerment is one of the Millennium Development Goals of the world. This is a topic that needs to be continuously researched to come up with many solutions to further enhance the role of women in all aspects of social and political life, especially the role of women in the highest authority of a country - the National Assembly. Therefore, there is a need for more in-depth research on this content.

Since the 1990s, the IPU has compiled and researched the topic of women and politics with many in-depth analyses, surveys and data compilations on the status of women's political participation in the world. To date, it can be said that the IPU is the leading organization in updating the data on female parliamentarians in parliaments and has many commentaries and accurate recommendations on measures to improve the legislative system and policies to enhance women's political voice. Books on the topic of women's political participation are always posted on the IPU website with the aim of widely disseminating and increasing public access to documents.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The area of advancing political rights of women demands breakthrough and sustainable researches and solutions. There have been a number of international organizations conducting research and projects about the afore-mentioned area. However, in order to change the participation of women in political activities, the parliament - the legislature of a nation - must take the initiative. Promoting gender equality in political activities is not only to promote women's rights but also promote the democratic progress in many countries and Vietnam National Assembly is also included in this progress.
The aim of the thesis is introducing the role of IPU - a largest inter-parliamentary organization in the world - in promoting the political participation of women in the world. The thesis evaluates and analyzes the activities and the influence of IPU on the progress of promoting political participation of women. To that end, the thesis raises opinion on the context of Vietnamese women participating politics and proposes solutions in order to enhance the efficiency of political participation of women parliamentarians of Vietnam and the corporation between Vietnam and IPU in the field of gender equality.
With the aim of achieving the above-mentioned objectives, first, the thesis introduces the establishment and history of IPU, the objectives and structure of the organization, especially the meetings for women parliamentarians. Second, the thesis analyzes and evaluates the influence and efficiency of IPU in the activities of promoting political participation of women as of the hard-core programs such as enhancing the awareness of political influence of women, improving the skills of women parliamentarians and promoting political equality through campaign of fostering to end violence against women. Third, the thesis analyzes and relates the Vietnamese policy and law in promoting political participation of women to IPU's activities. To that end, the thesis evaluates and proposes the solutions to enhance the efficiency of political participation of Vietnamese women.

The result of the thesis is an additional document in the field of researching gender equality in general and in the scope of enhancing the role of women in politics in specific. The evaluation in the thesis can be referred and compared to other research about gender equality and the role of other international Government organizations in promoting gender equality.
13. Further research directions, if any:
Women's empowerment is one of the Millenial Development Goals in the world. This subject needed to be constantly researched in order to bring out further solutions of enhancing the role of women in all aspects of society and politics, especially the role of women in the most powerful decision-making body of one nation - the Parliament. Hence, there must be a number of researches in this thematic subject.
