Chapter 1 of the thesis analyzed and clarified the US-Vietnam relationship in two main periods: 1975-1994 and 1995-2000. This analysis revealed changes in US policy towards Vietnam, as well as the ups and downs in the history of bilateral relations, from suspicion, embargoes, and economic tightening to the normalization of relations and negotiations leading to the signing of a bilateral trade agreement between the two countries.

Chapter 2 of the thesis examines the overall relationship between the two countries in areas such as politics, diplomacy, economics, and national security and defense from 2001 to the present. From the normalization of diplomatic relations, the United States and Vietnam have rapidly expanded cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic sector with the signing of the Bilateral Trade Agreement between the two countries in 2001, marking a significant step forward in the relationship and opening up new opportunities and challenges.

Chapter 3 of the thesis assessed the prominent features of US-Vietnam relations, the achievements, limitations, and remaining obstacles, and then offered some recommendations and solutions to contribute to strengthening and enhancing US-Vietnam relations in the future.

In Chapter 1, master's thesis explains the relationship between America - Vietnam with two main phases from 1975 to 1994 and from 1995 to 2000 to see a change in American policy on Vietnam as well as the vicissitudes of historical bilateral relationship, from suspicion, embargo, economic tightened to normalize relations and negotiation preparation has signed The Bilateral Trade Agreement between the two countries.
