10. Summary of thesis results:
Topic "The role of staffcsocial worker forlGender integration in poverty reduction projects (case study in 3 coastal communes of Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province)” was conducted with the aim of describing the reality of poverty and the situation of gender mainstreaming in poverty reduction programs and projects. From there, promoting the role of local social workers to further improve the effectiveness of gender mainstreaming when implementing poverty reduction projects.
The study has shown that gender inequality is very common in the study area, especially among the poor. Poor women are facing serious gender stereotypes; inequality in labor, employment; and opportunities to access poverty reduction projects. In the study area, women of working age are higher than men, they work hard, diligently, and responsibly, so poor women are considered positive agents in the poverty reduction effort. While poor women are positive agents for sustainable poverty reduction results, they lack confidence, knowledge, capital, and time for productive labor.
In recent years, local authorities have actively integrated gender factors into poverty reduction programs and projects. According to reports on the commune's activities, gender integration has had encouraging initial results. However, in reality, this is a complex issue that requires a team of professional staff with knowledge and well-trained gender integration skills to be truly effective.
Social work is a new profession in our country, but in the face of current social issues, developing the social work profession and promoting the role of social workers is very necessary. Social workers are well-trained people, have a solid grasp of gender knowledge, know gender integration skills, understand the psychology and needs of the poor. Therefore, social workers play an important role in gender integration when implementing poverty reduction projects, contributing to increasing the effectiveness of poverty reduction and sustainable social development.
11. Practical application:
The study provides an overview of the poverty situation, the current state of people's awareness of gender mainstreaming, the situation of gender equality and the effectiveness of gender mainstreaming, contributing to helping localities make appropriate adjustments, planning and support in the process of issuing policies for socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and improving people's lives. At the same time, the study contributes to helping people as well as local authorities better understand the role and capacity of social workers at the grassroots level.
12. Further research directions:
Based on the results obtained from this topic, we plan to conduct the next research direction: implementing the Gender Mainstreaming Model to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty in extremely disadvantaged communes, remote areas, where social workers work.
