The thesis consists of 3 chapters with the following basic contents:

Chapter 1. Theoretical and legal basis regarding the sources and composition of audiovisual materials submitted to provincial-level historical archives.

In this chapter, we study and explore the scientific basis for determining the source and composition of audiovisual materials submitted to the archives, including: clarifying the position and role of the agencies that create audiovisual materials, and the areas of jurisdiction for archiving; determining the historical value of provincial-level audiovisual materials; and, based on the standards, characteristics, and features of audiovisual materials, clarifying the criteria for determining the source and composition of materials submitted to the provincial-level historical archives.

Chapter 2. Current situation of organizing and managing audiovisual materials and submitting them to the historical archives of Thua Thien Hue province.

In this chapter, we clarify the current state of audiovisual document management in Thua Thien Hue province, focusing on surveying the situation at: the Provincial Historical Archives Center, agencies with important positions and roles in local activities, and agencies whose main function is to use audiovisual documents as a basis for proposing criteria for identifying the sources and components of audiovisual documents submitted to the provincial historical archives in Chapter 3.

Chapter 3. Project on developing criteria for determining the sources and components of audiovisual materials to be submitted to the historical archives of Thua Thien Hue province.

Based on the survey and analysis information in Chapters 1 and 2, in Chapter 3, we propose a specific plan for developing criteria to determine the sources and components of audiovisual materials to be submitted to the historical archives of Thua Thien Hue province.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings of this thesis serve as a reference for management agencies; agencies that are sources of documents submitted to the provincial historical archives have a basis for creating, organizing, managing, and submitting audiovisual materials in accordance with regulations.

12. Future research directions:

After completing this thesis, we will continue our research and propose to the competent authorities the issuance of regulations and rules to better manage audiovisual materials in Thua Thien Hue province.

This thesis consists of three chapters with the following basic content:

Chapter 1: Theoretical and legal basis about the source and composition of audiovisual records to transfer to the province's historical archives.

In this chapter, we investigate, and explore scientific basis to identify the source and composition of archived audiovisual records in which we clarify the location, the role of organizations establishing audiovisual records, areas of authorized archives, identify the historical values ​​of the provincial audiovisual records, from standards, and characteristics to clarify the criteria to identify the source and composition of the historical archives of the province.

Chapter 2: The reality of organizing and managing of audiovisual records and the transfer of these records to Thua Thien Hue province's historical archives.

In this chapter, we clarify the reality of records management in Thua Thien Hue province organizations in which we focus on examining this practice at the Center for Historical Archives of Thua Thien Hue province as well as key of the region that has the function to utilize audiovisual records as the main activity to initiate the criteria in identifying the source and composition of audiovisual records to transfer to the Historical archives in chapter 3.

Chapter 3: The project on establishing criteria to identify the source and composition of audiovisual records to transfer to the historical archives of Thua Thien Hue province.

From the data collected and analyzed in chapters 1 and 2, in chapter 3, we propose a specific project in establishing criteria to identify the source and composition of audiovisual records to transfer to the historical archives of Thua Thien Hue province.

11. Possibility of application in practice:

The research result of this thesis is the reference for management organization, organizations belonging to the provincial source of transferring the records to the historical archives has the basis to establish, manage and submit the audiovisual records by law.

12. Further research possibilities:

After completing this thesis, we continue to research and recommend authorities to issue regulations in order to better manage audiovisual records of Thua Thien Hue province.
