The thesis has researched and clarified 3 contents: Theoretical and practical basis of the research problem; Current status of the research problem; Analysis of inadequacies and proposed policy solutions to promote the application of information technology in remote communes.
In recent years, the application of information technology has been focused and developed to serve the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. The rate of computer and internet users has increased rapidly, especially in cities, showing that the policies of the Party and the State have had a clear impact on all aspects of social life.
However, current policies and target programs only focus on developing infrastructure, information and communication networks on a large scale in all localities nationwide... without specific policies or specific programs to promote the application of information technology to meet the needs of modernizing the management and operation of state agencies in remote communes; the management and exploitation of information technology equipment to serve the task of managing and maintaining political security and social order and safety have not really exploited the full potential of IT.
Therefore, through research and analysis of the current status of information technology application in Vietnam and in remote areas, the thesis recommends a number of solutions on policy development to promote the application of information technology in remote communes of our country, focusing on the aspect of computerization of public administration and use of the Internet in communes.

All the research results of the thesis can be applied in practice right now. The results help state management agencies on information technology to build a database on information technology application activities in remote communes of Vietnam, and make systematic assessments of these activities;

In recent years Government pays special attention to IT application in order that Vietnam can improve technology capacity to defend and build the country. The number of computer and internet users in the cities raises very quickly to show the effect of the IT policies in all aspects of life.
But in the remote areas the activities of IT application are still thinly populated.
These thesis research the current status of this issues and propose some solutions to improve IT application activities in the remote areas.
