Firstly, the thesis has explored the entire journey of literary creation of writer Kim Lan from the years before the August Revolution until the end of his life. Along with that, the thesis also explores his artistic concepts in a number of aspects such as: concept of human, concept of beauty, concept of writing. Thereby, it is affirmed that Kim Lan is a writer with a progressive concept of art, abundant creativity and a solid position in the national literary scene.

Second, the thesis has deeply studied the world of characters in Kim Lan's short stories with prominent character types such as: characters with a small, disadvantaged status, characters with a heavy heart for their homeland and characters with latent vitality. To achieve this success, the author has used a number of outstanding artistic techniques: creating character portraits, placing characters in challenging situations and painstakingly portraying the characters' inner lives, even building autobiographical characters.

In addition, the thesis also studies the types of plots that Kim Lan uses to tell stories such as linear plots, zigzag plots, frame plots and psychological plots. The writer also has many unique features in the art of organizing the plot in parts such as presentation, development and ending, in order to create unique marks and styles of the author.

First, the thesis was to find out the entire literary art journey of Kim Lan, a Vietnamese writer from the year before the August Revolution to the end of life. Therefore, this theme also seeks to understand the concept of his art on a number of aspects such as the concept of man, the concept of beauty, the notion of writing. Thereby, confirmed that Kim Lan has a progressive art concept, an abundant creativity and a solid fate on ethnic literature.

Second, the thesis has studied in depth the world of the characters in Kim Lan's short stories with outstanding characters such as characters carrying little body parts, loss, love heavy characters and hometown characters with their potential. Thanks to these characters, he was successful in most of his writings, the writer has used some artistic Judicial Highlights: building character portraits, book characters into challenging situations and making use of the inner life portraying characters, even it is the construction of the autobiographical character.
