10. Summary of thesis results:
The study presents an overview of prolonged grief disorder in young adults, including key studies and epidemiological data in the world and Vietnam. Basic issues of this disorder such as concept, risk factors, impact on life function and psychology in adults, clinical characteristics and diagnostic criteria according to DSM-5-TR have been mentioned. At the same time, the study also discussed assessment and intervention methods, including an integrated approach between William Worden's grief loss perspective, rational emotional behavioral approach and psychodramatic techniques, to support clients to overcome prolonged grief disorder.
The intervention results showed that the client had significantly reduced the symptoms of grief loss, replaced rigid demands with more realistic demands, met work and realized his dreams. At the same time, the client was able to anticipate the times when grief feelings might increase so that he could manage grief and prevent the recurrence of maladaptive thoughts.
11. Practical application: From the results obtained through the process of theoretical and practical research in clinical intervention, the thesis has contributed more evidence for the effectiveness of psychological intervention for the problem of loss and grief. At the same time, the limitations of the thesis also provide new practitioners with lessons to increase the effectiveness of future therapy.
