This thesis conducts a comprehensive study of several core issues of social security in rural China, including: 1) Theoretical issues of social security and social security in rural China; 2) The history and current state of development of the social security system in rural China from 1978 to the present; 3) Some assessments of the social security system in rural China and suggestions for Vietnam.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings of this thesis will serve as a useful reference for those interested in Chinese social security in general and rural social security in particular. Furthermore, the aim of this thesis is to clarify the implementation process of the social security system in rural China over 40 years (from 1978 to 2018); analyze its successes and limitations; and draw lessons that Vietnam can learn from.
