- The topic analyzed the importance of the role and position of Asia - Pacific in US foreign policy after the Cold War.

- Analyze the main contents of US policy towards the Asia-Pacific region and clarify the goals that the US wants to achieve in the process of implementing the policy.

- Analyze US policy towards Vietnam in the overall policy towards the Asia-Pacific region, US limits in implementing strategic intentions towards the region and towards Vietnam.

- On that basis, the topic identifies the impacts on regional security, Vietnam's national security and forecasts some trends of the US's Asia-Pacific policy in the next 5 years.
