Firstly, this thesis provides an overview of the factors influencing US economic policy in the Philippines and the basic content of US economic policy in the Philippines from 1898 to 1946.

Secondly, the thesis compares the economic policies of the United States in the Philippines with those of Spain in the Philippines before that period, and of several other colonial powers during the period 1898–1946.

Third, the thesis clarifies some characteristics and impacts of US economic policy in the Philippines on both the US and the Philippines.

- The thesis can be used as a reference document for further research.Regarding American history, the history of the Philippines spans from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.

Firstly, the thesis presents an overview of factors affecting the United States' policy governing the economy in the Philippines; significance of Philippines – colony of the United States in its expansionist policy in Asia Pacific; US invasion to the Philippine islands and basic contents of the US policy governing the Philippines.

Secondly, the thesis also highlights the United States policy governing all economic aspects of the Philippines. It also provides a comparison with the previous economic policy of Spain and some other colonial nations.

Thirdly, the thesis analyzes impacts of the United States economic policy in the Philippines on both countries; and analyzed and compared the United States economic policy in some other colonial nations.
