10. Summary of thesis results:

This research thesis clarifies the reality of domestic violence and the difficulties faced by social workers in assisting women who have experienced domestic violence in Hung Thang ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province. Simultaneously, using acquired knowledge and skills, it applies individual social work techniques to help women who have experienced violence: stabilizing their mental state, identifying the causes and consequences of violence, and equipping them with life skills and knowledge to solve their own problems, while also enabling them to participate in resources and services related to domestic violence prevention and social work.

Based on the research findings, solutions and recommendations are proposed to improve the effectiveness of social work in the field of domestic violence prevention in Hung Thang ward in particular and Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province in general.

- Applying individualized intervention techniques to specific situations to help mitigate the problem of domestic violence against women.

- Through practical case studies, this thesis will provide deeper insights into domestic conflicts involving violence and the reactions of those involved to domestic violence. This information is hoped to be helpful for social workers working in the field of family, especially in addressing domestic violence, enabling them to not only improve intervention techniques but also identify trends in developing appropriate and effective intervention models for domestic violence within the specific socio-economic conditions of Vietnam.

This thesis aims to investigate how domestic violence against women happens in the research site to provide necessary information for social workers working with domestic violence. It also presents a case in which social workers work with a young woman victim of domestic violence. Applying the process of social work with individual and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, the author supports the victim in boosting her internal strengths, re-connecting her with her social capital, and learning new ways to look at and cope with her especially violent conflict situations between her and her husband. This thesis also shares some lessons in working with women victims of domestic violence in the research site, focusing on the application of knowledge/theory, the uses of skills and techniques, and ethical dilemma raised in the intervention process.

- Applying individual intervention skills in the real situation to limit violence in family caused by females

- Through the real situations, the thesis provides a deep view for conflicts in families who are violent doing for their problems and reactions of participating people for such violence. It is hope that the information will be useful for staffs in charge of social work related to family issues, especially for violence in family, who refer to not only improve their intervention skills1
