The topic: “Group social work with women who are victims of domestic violence (Case study in Xuan Phuong commune, Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province)” was carried out to describe the general situation of domestic violence and the awareness of people in Xuan Phuong commune, Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province. The topic also focuses on understanding the current situation of domestic violence prevention work that has been and is being implemented in the locality.

The thesis applies the group social work method to help a group of women who suffer from domestic violence. Through group interaction, group members receive psychological and emotional support, and have an environment to share with people in similar situations. The group environment also helps members gain more knowledge about domestic violence and how to prevent it for themselves and their families.

11. Practical application

As we all know, domestic violence is a serious problem that affects the quality of life in families around the world and in Vietnam. To reduce and eliminate domestic violence, there is the cooperation of many different sectors, in which the role of the Social Work sector is indispensable. However, in reality, Social Work is a relatively new sector in our country. Therefore, through this topic, I mainly mention the method of group social work in helping a group of women who are victims of domestic violence to help the victims get psychological support; emotional support, have an environment to share with people in difficult circumstances, raise awareness of local people about domestic violence to limit and eliminate domestic violence. Therefore, this topic has contributed to the construction and development of a group social work model with a group of subjects who are in great need of attention and help, which are women who are victims of domestic violence.

12. Further research directions:

Based on the results of this study, I would like to continue researching on the Difficulties women face in reporting domestic violence.
