With the topic "On-location reporting for news segments in television news broadcasts," this thesis surveys and researches on on-location reporting for television news segments in news broadcasts on VTV1 (Vietnam Television) and THP (Hai Phong Radio and Television). The thesis focuses on the issue based on fundamental theoretical foundations from documents, books, and newspapers, as well as practical experience at the News Departments of Vietnam Television and some local stations such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Bac Giang, etc. The thesis synthesizes, analyzes, and evaluates to provide the most specific view of on-location reporting activities at Vietnam Television in general and local television stations in particular. From there, the thesis summarizes the skills of on-location reporters and the necessary elements for effectively performing this activity in television news reporting. At the same time, the topic focused on a specific issue: on-location reporting skills for television news reports, providing authentic and relatable examples from previously broadcast reports to offer concrete illustrations.

The process of researching the topic, searching for information, and analyzing the current practices of on-location reporting has helped the author of this thesis draw valuable lessons to strive for and improve on-location reporting skills in news reporting, serving practically the author's own work.

The proposed solutions outlined in this thesis are the core conclusions drawn from practical research at several television stations. It is hoped that this thesis will contribute to the development of on-location reporting skills for news broadcasts in television news programs, and be helpful to colleagues.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

To finish the thesis under the title “Standup in the television for the reportage on a news broadcast”, the author carried out a research of doing standups at the scene for reportages broadcasted on the radio and television station of Haiphong in comparison to the Vietnam Television Station, at the same time concentrated on studying the problem based on the basic theory from the documents, books and facts of the news departments at Vietnam Television Station as well as other local radio and television stations, such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Ha Noi and Bac Giang…

The author of the thesis carried out the analysis, evaluation and summaries up the relevant issues to provide the most specific view of the ways to standup in the field for news stories on Vietnam Television Station in general and on the local radio and television stations in particular. Through appraising of the actual situation, the author inferred to the necessary skills of the roporters and other important ideas for successful stand-ups on the TV news stories. While it's a common storytelling tactic for reports in the field, not every standup is effective, so, from theoretical and practical point of view, the author of the thesis draws valuable reductions to perfect myself on doing well the different types of stand-ups. These are very useful for my own work.

The proposed solutions are the result of generalizing the thesis - related issues after researching the situations at the local radio and television stations in comparison to the Vietnam Television Station. The author hopes, that the thesis is a reference material for colleagues to enhance the skills for standup in the field for TV news stories.
