10. Summary of the thesis results:
Through its survey, this thesis presents statistical data on the number and description of reduplicated words found in Vietnamese language textbooks for foreigners. This statistical analysis and description are based on the classification of reduplicated words in terms of structure and semantics. Reduplicated words appear in the pronunciation sections of basic textbooks, in individual sentences and paragraphs, and are particularly prevalent in advanced textbooks. The teaching of reduplicated words in a specific and formal manner is addressed in some advanced textbooks. Furthermore, the thesis provides a preliminary overview of students' actual use of reduplicated words, identifies potential errors, and suggests ways to introduce reduplicated words to students, as well as types of exercises for practice to achieve high teaching effectiveness.
Through this thesis, we hope to contribute to providing a clearer understanding of this particular vocabulary case and of Vietnamese language research in general, in the context of teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language.
11. Practical applications:
Based on the content of the research paper on reduplication and teaching methods in Vietnamese language textbooks, our proposal for the use of reduplication in textbooks aims to scientifically assess and organize the purpose and methods of incorporating reduplication into teaching. Simultaneously, it proposes adding several practical exercises to help students effectively learn Vietnamese reduplication and apply it in appropriate contexts.
