10. Summary of the thesis results:
Self-compassion is the ability to empathize with one's own suffering or misfortune, accepting that suffering or misfortune with kindness, patience, serenity, and a deep desire to alleviate it. Self-compassion is directly related to caring for, being kind to, and showing compassion to oneself, just as one extends these qualities to loved ones when they are suffering.
Most study subjects exhibited high levels of self-compassion and moderate levels of depression. There were virtually no statistically significant differences in self-compassion levels among student groups, between male and female students, or between students of different majors, hometowns, etc.
Specifically, self-compassion (SC) is most strongly correlated with the element of Self-Love (SK-SJ), followed by the element of Mindfulness (MF-OI), and finally the element of Humanity-Likeness (CH-IS).
The study revealed the current state of self-compassion and depression levels among Vietnamese students. The majority of students exhibited high levels of self-compassion and moderate levels of depression.
