This thesis focuses on the implementation of China's maritime power building program and, based on that, offers recommendations to contribute to protecting Vietnam's sovereignty, legitimate interests, and national security.
The thesis focuses on analyzing and clarifying the factors shaping China's maritime power building strategy; analyzing the implementation of China's maritime power building, assessing the advantages and disadvantages in the implementation process; thereby identifying the impacts on Vietnam's interests and national security, and proposing solutions to ensure Vietnam's legitimate interests and national security.
Based on the research findings, this thesis will contribute to advising relevant agencies on policy planning solutions to protect national interests, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security, and maintain a stable security and foreign policy environment for national development in the context of increasing strategic competition among major powers in the region, especially China's aggressive pursuit of a maritime power strategy to realize its ambition of becoming a leading global power.

The thesis focuses on China's implementation of building maritime power. Suggestions and recommendations are put forward accordingly for contributing to the protection of sovereignty, legitimate interests and assurance of national security of Vietnam.
The thesis provides concentration on analyzing and clarifying factors that form China's strategy of building a maritime power; analyzing areas and means that China exploits to realize the strategy; assess advantages and disadvantages in the implementation process. Based on these outputs, the paper identifies related impacts on Vietnam's national security and interests and a number of solutions to ensure legitimate interests and national security of Viet Nam.
The expected outcome of the thesis is to make positive contribution to advise government relevant agencies on appropriate solutions to preserve interests, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security an external environment for national development in the context of increasing strategic competition among powerful nations in the region, especially China, which has been assertively promoting the strategy of maritime power to realize it's ambition of becoming the world's leading powerful country.
