The thesis has contributed to clarifying some basic theoretical issues of information resource development in information and library activities such as clarifying the concept of information resources, information resource development; the role of information resources and information resource development; principles of information resource development; factors affecting information resource development; studying the current status of information resource development, characteristics of information resources, giving comments and assessments on the current status of information resources as well as information resource development activities at the Information Center - Library of the University of Education, Thai Nguyen University. Based on the study of theoretical and practical bases, the thesis has proposed some solutions to enhance the development of information resources to best meet the information needs of information users at the University of Education, Thai Nguyen University.

The research of the thesis can be applied in the process of developing information resources at the Information Center - Library of Thai Nguyen University of Education in the present and future periods.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

This thesis is aimed to clarify the theoretical background of the development of information resources in the library and information science such asthe concept of information resources and its development, the role of information resources and the activity of information resources development as well as the principle of and a source of factors affecting this activity. More especially, the study also attempts to figure out various features of information resources and the current situation of the information resources development at the Library and Information Center of Thai Nguyen University of Education. Finally, some feasible solutions and recommendations will be revealed based on the theoretical and practical background in order to improve the information resources development as well as to meet the need of users at Thai Nguyen University of Education.

The research results can be applied in the development of information resources at the Library and Information Center of Thai Nguyen University of Education in the current period and subsequent years.
